Oral sedation is a procedure by which an oral medication is given to help guide a child’s behavior in order to reduce anxiety and discomfort associated with dental procedures.
We use a variety of medications to safely sedate a child based on the treatment needs and level of anxiety.
Sedation is not intended to render a child unconscious. It rather makes the child drowsy and less anxious, so they can tolerate the planned dental procedures in a better manner.
Not every child can be a candidate for sedation. Prior to sedation we will thoroughly evaluate your child and recommend the safest treatment approach for your child based on his/her treatment needs.
